Location: UK (HQ) / Boston / Dallas / Singapore / Remote
Reporting to: Global Head of Indirect Procurement
Team: 4 direct reports (with access to regional sourcing hubs); expected to scale
Annual Spend: c. USD 150m

Role Overview

We are creating a new Senior Director of Marketing, Media & Events Procurement to lead one of our most strategic and value‑rich indirect spend portfolios. This role sits at the intersection of brand, growth, innovation, and commercial execution, with strong sponsorship from senior business leaders and a clear mandate to deliver step‑change value.

With circa USD 150m of global spend across marketing services, media, agencies, production, digital, events, and sponsorships, this role will define and execute a modern, outcome‑driven procurement model that enables the business while materially improving value, effectiveness, and governance.

This is a true transformation role. You will move the function from tactical buying to trusted business partnership, building credibility with Marketing, Commercial, Corporate Affairs, and Events leadership globally.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Transformation

  • Own and lead the global Marketing, Media & Events Procurement strategy, aligned to enterprise growth and brand objectives
  • Design and implement a next‑generation procurement operating model for marketing‑related spend, balancing speed, creativity, risk, and value
  • Drive a step‑change in value delivery (commercial, working capital, innovation, effectiveness, and demand optimisation)
  • Establish clear category roadmaps, value pipelines, and execution discipline

Business Partnership

  • Act as a senior, credible partner to Marketing, Brand, Digital, Corporate Affairs, and Events leadership
  • Translate business priorities into actionable sourcing and supplier strategies
  • Challenge constructively, influence confidently, and enable better decision‑making without slowing the business
  • Build strong governance while preserving agility and creativity

Category & Supplier Management

  • Lead sourcing and supplier strategies across:
    • Creative and advertising agencies
    • Media (digital, paid, performance, programmatic, traditional)
    • Production and content
    • Events, sponsorships, and experiential marketing
    • Marketing technology and related services
  • Drive best‑in‑class commercial models, contract structures, and performance management
  • Rationalise and optimise the supplier ecosystem where appropriate

Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Lead and develop a team of 4 procurement professionals, with planned expansion as the remit grows
  • Leverage global sourcing hubs to scale execution and capability
  • Build category expertise, commercial acumen, and business‑facing confidence within the team

Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Strengthen contracting, IP protection, data privacy, and regulatory compliance across marketing spend
  • Implement clear processes that support speed and creativity without unnecessary friction

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a senior procurement leader with proven experience operating at the intersection of marketing, media, and executive business partnership.

Essential Experience:

  • Senior‑level procurement leadership experience in Marketing, Media, Advertising, or Events categories
  • Proven track record of leading transformation and delivering material, end‑to‑end value
  • Experience managing complex global stakeholders and influencing senior leaders
  • Strong commercial, contractual, and negotiation expertise in marketing ecosystems
  • Experience managing and developing high‑performing teams

Critical Capabilities:

  • Outstanding business partnering skills - trusted, pragmatic, and commercially sharp
  • Ability to identify value opportunities beyond price (effectiveness, demand, innovation, speed‑to‑market)
  • Strong execution mindset - able to move from strategy to results
  • Comfortable operating in a fast‑moving, brand‑led environment
