Senior Production Manager

The Senior Production Manager provides leadership and management across all aspects of plant operations, including safety, production, maintenance, warehouse, and quality. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, managing a large team of hourly and salaried employees, and ensuring alignment with business goals, cost objectives, and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead plant safety initiatives to ensure a secure work environment, environmental compliance, and strong housekeeping standards.
  • Oversee daily operations including production, maintenance, and warehouse functions to meet quality, schedule, and cost targets.
  • Drive continuous improvement through Lean, Six Sigma, and productivity tools to reduce waste and enhance efficiency.
  • Manage production planning and scheduling in coordination with QA, QC, and engineering to ensure optimal workflow and product quality.
  • Develop and manage budgets, quality programs, and performance improvement plans aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead and develop teams through performance reviews, training programs, and effective communication to build a high-performing workforce.
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities with engineering, quality, and other departments to support plant-wide initiatives.
  • Act as Plant Manager when required, supporting strategic projects and ensuring operational continuity.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Management (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or Ceramics preferred).
  • 7+ years of progressive manufacturing experience, including supervisory and management roles.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing large teams (150+ hourly, 6 salaried).
  • Strong technical knowledge and ability to drive change in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated success in safety, quality, and productivity improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, heights, and physical activity.
