Sourcing Manager - Construction Services & EPC

Overview:
A Fortune 200 industry leader is looking for a strategic and experienced EPC Category Manager to lead complex sourcing initiatives and manage high-value project contracts. This role focuses heavily on contracting and category management for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firms, as well as construction and engineering services. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in supplier management, risk mitigation, and cross-functional collaboration to support large-scale infrastructure and capital projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the EPC category, including sourcing and contracting for engineering and construction services.
  • Oversee complex, high-value projects ($1M+), ensuring alignment with business goals and risk management strategies.
  • Conduct spend and risk analysis; develop and implement mitigation plans.
  • Provide guidance to procurement teams, sourcing specialists, and contract administrators.
  • Establish and promote best practices in sourcing, purchasing, and category management.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying trends and securing stakeholder support.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to execute strategic sourcing initiatives and manage competing priorities.
  • Develop and execute category plans that include market analysis, risk strategies, and change management.
  • Act as the primary procurement representative in EPC projects and sourcing events.
  • Support emergency response activities as needed.

Scope of Work:

  • Manage high-risk, high-value suppliers and category spend across business units.
  • Provide governance and oversight of complex procurement activities.
  • Promote continuous improvement and support team development.
  • Travel to supplier and project sites as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field with 7+ years of experience
  • Strong project and change management skills.
  • Deep understanding of supply chain, category management, and cost drivers.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and present to executive audiences.
  • Skilled in data analysis and evaluating financial impacts of sourcing decisions.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and conflict management skills.
  • Strong grasp of contract terms and ability to hold suppliers accountable.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and manage stakeholder expectations.

Preferred Experience:

  • 3+ years managing large, multi-million dollar EPC contracts specific to services.
  • In-depth category expertise in construction and engineering services.
  • Experience working directly with business units on capital projects.
