Senior Sourcing Manager - Capital Equipment & Services
A global manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Senior Sourcing Manager to lead procurement strategy and execution for capital equipment, infrastructure investments, and maintenance-related services. The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of strategic sourcing expertise specific to capital investments, machinery, tooling, and MRO, a technical understanding of manufacturing environments, and proven leadership across complex, cross-functional initiatives.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Lead sourcing activities for capital equipment, manufacturing technologies, and facility-related investments across multiple sites.
- Develop and execute category strategies aligned with long-range capital planning and business priorities.
- Drive supplier selection, competitive bidding, and total cost of ownership evaluations for high-value projects.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to align sourcing strategies with technical requirements and ROI expectations.
- Oversee sourcing of machinery and equipment maintenance services, spare parts, and operational support categories tied to capital assets.
- Partner with maintenance, engineering, and facilities teams to forecast demand and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Establish supplier performance metrics focused on service reliability, responsiveness, and cost efficiency.
- Build and manage strategic supplier relationships across capital and service categories.
- Lead commercial negotiations, including contracts, service agreements, warranties, and risk mitigation terms.
- Monitor market dynamics to identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative sourcing options.
- Serve as the sourcing lead on cross-functional capital project teams (no direct reports).
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, safety standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Support audits, documentation, and governance processes related to sourcing and contracts.
- Provide guidance and influence to stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 7+ years of progressive sourcing or procurement experience, including capital equipment and/or maintenance categories within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Demonstrated success negotiating complex commercial agreements.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, industrial equipment, and asset lifecycle management.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Proficiency with standard business tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Willingness to travel as needed.
Preferred
- Master's degree (MBA or similar).
- Experience supporting manufacturing, utilities, or facilities-intensive environments.
- Knowledge of reliability engineering, preventive maintenance, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Professional certifications such as CPSM, CSM, CSCP, PMP, or Lean Six Sigma.
- Ability to balance long-term strategic planning with hands-on execution.
Compensation: The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several factors, including performance, skill set, job-related experience, and education or training. This role is also eligible for annual bonuses and merit increases, subject to eligibility criteria.
