Thermal Engineer

DSJ Global is currently partnered with a growing equipment manufacturer who is looking to add on a new Thermal Engineer to join their customer facing team in the greater Greenville area. The Thermal Engineer will be responsible for designing and optimizing cooling and thermal management systems for mission-critical environments. This role focuses on improving system efficiency, reliability, and performance across complex infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design for thermal and ventilation systems (HVAC, layouts, fire suppression, cable management).
• Develop conceptual and detailed designs, including schematics, drawings, and specifications.
• Perform thermal calculations and basic CFD analysis.
• Ensure compliance with building codes and regulatory standards.
• Review and approve mechanical submittals and component selections.
• Define project scope and support construction phases with technical guidance.
• Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and integration partners on system design and implementation.
• Support system commissioning, testing, and on-site startup activities.
• Conduct site visits, audits, and performance evaluations.
• Provide innovative, cost-effective engineering solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of mechanical/thermal engineering experience.
• Knowledge of building codes and construction standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office.
• Experience interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Project management and leadership experience preferred.
• PE license is a plus.
