Validation Design Engineer

Position Overview:

DSJ Global has partnered with a Power Electronics Manufacturer in the Greater Boston Area looking to bring in a Validation Design Engineer. This position is a key part of expanding their team and will be responsible for working closely with NPI Program Management and Manufacturing teams to drive new product development while improving the quality of the electronic components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement qualification process methods to meet customer requirements for long life failure rates.
  • Work closely with NPI Program Management and NPI Manufacturing Engineering teams to drive new products to meet agreed time frames.
  • Monitor new product validation activities against targets to ensure sufficient progress toward those targets is being achieved.
  • Identify opportunities for reliability improvement in current products and work within the product commercialization process to realize these improvements in successive generations of designs.
  • Distribute reports that track product and/or process reliability performance to internal groups and to customers.
  • Make recommendations for tests, burn-in screening and life test capital equipment Acquisition.

Education / Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of electronic circuits, components, PCBs and electronics manufacturing processes.
  • Software coding knowledge a plus.
  • Experience with FMEA and Design of Experiments.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years' relevant experience required.
  • Familiarity with power conversion theory including AC/DC and DC/DC preferred.
  • Familiarity with automotive requirements and controls preferred.
