Warehouse Operations Lead

Our client - A leading privately held Consumer Goods company, is seeking a proactive and experienced Warehouse Operations Lead to manage and actively participate in the daily operations of their warehouse. This role requires a hands-on leader who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and support the team in all functions- from unloading trucks to final shipment. The ideal candidate will foster a team- oriented environment focused on safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Daily Warehouse Operations: Oversee receiving, storage, picking, packing, staging, and shipping activities to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Hands-On Support: Actively assist team members in day-to-day warehouse tasks as needed. Lead by example and stay engaged in floor operation to drive productivity and morale.
  • Team Development: Train, schedule, and help lead a team of warehouse associates; promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels, cycle counts, and product integrity; resolve discrepancies and manage stock replenishments.
  • Customs & Compliance: Ensure proper documentation and labeling for international shipments in compliance with customs regulations (e.g., bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists).
  • Inbound/Outbound Coordination: Liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics partners to coordinate import/export schedules.
  • Safety & Maintenance: Enforce warehouse safety protocols and manage equipment inspections and maintenance needs.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate records and generate reports on warehouse productivity, inventory levels, and shipping metrics.
  • Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements in warehouse layout, workflow, and systems.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations or logistics, with at least 1 year in leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong working knowledge of warehouse procedures and inventory management systems
  • Experience with international shipping and customs documentation is a plus
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain
  • Bilingual
  • Comfortable working in a fast- paced, physically active environment
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem- solving skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team through example and collaboration
