Assistant Plant Controller
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Assistant Division Controller to support the financial operations of our manufacturing division in Waco, TX. This role will assist in managing accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls to ensure compliance and drive business performance. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of cost accounting in a manufacturing environment, and a proactive approach to process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Partner with operations and supply chain teams to analyze manufacturing costs, inventory, and production variances.
- Help develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Maintain and improve internal controls and ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
- Assist with audits, both internal and external, and ensure timely resolution of findings.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Lead or support special projects, including ERP upgrades, cost-saving initiatives, and process automation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and financial analysis.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
