Our client is a national engineering consultancy with multiple full-service offices across the United States. Their firm provides comprehensive engineering, procurement, and construction management services to industrial process manufacturers in sectors such as pulp & paper, chemicals, consumer products, and food & beverage. They are currently experiencing significant growth, making this an exciting time to join the team.

Role Overview
The Business Development Manager will collaborate closely with the Consumer Products Vertical Lead to shape market strategies and coordinate internal resources in a team-oriented environment. This role is responsible for developing client relationships, generating and nurturing leads, managing proposals, closing contracts, and maintaining key accounts. The position also involves supporting major clients and projects, including aspects of project and relationship management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive profitable business growth from both new and existing clients.
  • Identify client needs, qualify prospects, and collaborate with internal teams to communicate value and prepare proposals and contracts.
  • Develop industry insights and understand capital project drivers to tailor service offerings.
  • Execute a client-focused, solution-oriented sales process.
  • Create and enhance industry-specific marketing materials.
  • Represent the company as a thought leader through networking and industry engagement.
  • Gather and share competitive intelligence.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure proper project staffing.
  • Participate in project management for engagements you help secure.
  • Serve as the primary client contact to strengthen relationships.
  • Mentor and manage other business development team members.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for delivering value through engineering solutions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a willingness to challenge the status quo.
  • Background in the Consumer Products industry, particularly in engineering, maintenance, or construction.
  • In-depth understanding of engineering services and construction consulting.
  • Experience managing engineering design and project execution.
  • Proven success in selling engineering or construction management services to consumer product companies.
  • Results-driven, proactive, and confident.
  • Deep client focus and understanding of the Consumer Products sector.
