Commodity Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for assigned categories.
- Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and establish long-term agreements focused on cost, quality, and risk mitigation.
- Lead and mentor a remote team, fostering collaboration and high performance.
- Analyze supplier capabilities in emerging markets, especially in low-cost regions.
- Support new product launches through cross-functional collaboration with R&D, Marketing, Operations, and Logistics.
- Drive cost optimization through RFPs, supplier consolidation, e-auctions, and raw material index agreements.
- Conduct market analysis, benchmarking, and supplier risk assessments.
- Maintain accurate pricing and data across multiple ERP systems.
- Resolve pricing and invoicing discrepancies in coordination with Accounts Payable.
- Collaborate with Logistics to optimize freight costs and sourcing strategies.
- Contribute to process improvements and procurement governance initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management (MBA or certifications like CPSM preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in manufacturing, procurement, or supply chain roles, including 2+ years managing remote teams.
- Strong understanding of Asian supply markets and business practices.
- Proficiency in English; Mandarin language skills are a strong asset.
- Expertise in strategic sourcing, negotiation, and contract management.
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
