Designer, Ladies Sportswear
Position Overview:
The Designer for Ladies' Golf and Racquet Sports plays a key role in shaping the creative direction of seasonal collections. This position requires a highly creative and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The designer is responsible for the full lifecycle of product development-from concept to final production-working cross-functionally to bring designs to market.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design process from initial concept sketches to final samples.
- Conduct trend research, gather inspiration, and select seasonal color palettes.
- Create detailed CADs, illustrator sketches, and provide fit comments.
- Collaborate with leadership to maintain a clear and current brand identity.
- Partner with fabric and print development teams to guide material and pattern creation.
- Adhere to the seasonal time and action calendar.
- Align design vision with merchandising goals, ensuring price point and SKU requirements are met.
- Present trends and final collections to internal and external stakeholders.
- Approve sales samples for production readiness.
- Mentor assistant designers and interns.
- Occasional travel required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Design or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in women's activewear or sportswear design.
- Strong understanding of performance fabrics and technologies.
- Proven track record in womenswear design.
- High level of creativity and passion for design.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Ability to learn new technologies including 3D design and Nedgraphics.
- Excellent color sense and taste level.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Confident presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in golf or racquet sports apparel.
- Familiarity with 3D design software (e.g., Browzwear).
- Knowledge of advanced fabric technologies (e.g., moisture-wicking, stretch).
