Position Overview
The FSQA Manager is a key site leader reporting to the Plant Manager and is responsible for establishing the facility's food safety and quality strategy, strengthening FSQA culture, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory, customer, and corporate standards. This role oversees the plant's FSQA systems, certification programs, sanitation oversight, product specifications, internal audits, complaint investigations, risk assessments, and documentation management. The FSQA Manager works cross‑functionally with operations, maintenance, R&D, and corporate teams, maintains required third‑party certifications such as SQF, participates in corporate FSQA initiatives, and ensures that employees are equipped with the training, tools, and support needed to consistently deliver safe, high‑quality products.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute FSQA strategies, goals, and KPIs to drive continuous improvement in food safety, quality, and plant culture.
- Oversee FSQA programs, internal audits, documentation, and compliance activities to meet corporate standards, regulatory expectations, and SQF certification requirements.
- Lead investigations into consumer and customer complaints, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Support product commercialization, specification development, and cross‑functional coordination for new launches and process changes.
- Manage product holds, dispositions, risk assessments, and FSQA data reporting while participating in corporate meetings and audit programs.
- Direct FSQA staffing, training, budgeting, and supply management to ensure effective operation of the department.
Education & Experience
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Safety & Defense, or a related field.
- Required: Minimum five years of experience in food industry FSQA management.
