About the Role
The General Manager will act as a business leader, driving profitability, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction. This position requires an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to identify new business opportunities while ensuring the branch operates to the highest standards of efficiency and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full accountability for the branch's financial and operational performance.
- Develop and implement long-term strategies and annual business plans.
- Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and revenue growth initiatives.
- Lead and develop the local management team, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards.
- Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement across all functions.
- Maintain strong relationships with strategic partners, carriers, and agents.
- Actively engage in business development and acquisition of new clients.
- Serve as the strategic account lead for key customers.
- Report directly to the COO.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics/Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in senior leadership roles within international logistics.
- Proven track record in managing complex operations and delivering revenue growth.
- Strong financial management skills and strategic planning capability.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Ability to drive transformation and manage organisational change.
- Commercially focused with outstanding communication skills.
