Industrial Automation Engineer
A growing manufacturer in the precision metals industry is seeking an Industrial Automation Engineer to join its team at a seamless tube manufacturing facility in the Pacific Northwest. This role will serve as the subject matter expert for controls and automation, supporting continuous improvement across all production processes.
The position involves maintaining and enhancing existing control systems as well as designing and implementing new automation solutions. The company specializes in high-precision tubing used in demanding industries such as aerospace and medical. Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage automation projects from concept through implementation.
Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize existing PLC- and SCADA-based control systems.
Specify and design new automation systems to improve efficiency and quality.
Develop and integrate custom control solutions for production enhancement.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all systems and modifications.
Qualifications
We're looking for a motivated individual with a background in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, and a passion for automation in manufacturing. Ideal candidates are proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative, with a strong interest in continuous learning and technical development.
Required:
5+ years of automation engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong focus on safety as a foundational principle
Proficiency with PLC and SCADA systems
Experience with programming languages (C# experience is a plus)
Willingness to learn and grow in both company-specific and industry-standard practices
