Maintenance Manager

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Manager to lead plant maintenance operations and drive continuous improvement across safety, quality, and reliability. This role is responsible for supervising maintenance teams, managing preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all maintenance activities to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations.
  • Supervise and coach maintenance personnel; conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, FDA, NEC, and other applicable regulatory standards.
  • Oversee execution of maintenance work orders, ensuring quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs; audit completed work for accuracy and completeness.
  • Review and improve job plans, labor estimates, materials, and priorities in collaboration with planners and technicians.
  • Identify training needs and support skill development for maintenance team members.
  • Promote and enforce safe work practices and maintain high standards of housekeeping.
  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting equipment and systems.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of labor, parts, and work activities in the CMMS.
  • Support food safety and quality initiatives in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience (6+ years) in maintenance leadership within a manufacturing or food production environment.
  • Strong understanding of GMP, OSHA, and EPA regulations.
  • Proficiency in CMMS and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering.
  • 8+ years of progressive maintenance experience in food manufacturing or similar industry.
  • Experience in utility systems, technical training, and workforce development.
  • Background in continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Prior experience as a maintenance supervisor or team lead.

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing or food production facility.
  • Exposure to machinery, noise, and food allergens.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying temperature conditions.
