Maintenance Supervisor
General Responsibilities
Support the Maintenance Manager in all plant maintenance activities, including completing Preventative Maintenance (PM) tasks and managing work orders to ensure the facility operates effectively. Maintain equipment to minimize unplanned downtime, identify root causes of issues, and implement corrective and preventive measures. Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to reduce repair-related delays. Supervise a team of 15 employees to ensure the facility meets GMP, HACCP, and USDA standards while maintaining a safe environment for employees, contractors, and customers. Assist with employee evaluations, training, corrective actions, and workload planning. Recommend and promote continuous improvement initiatives.
Specific Responsibilities
- Help oversee four shifts of maintenance teams to ensure production lines operate as scheduled, meet throughput goals, maintain product quality, and comply with USDA, EPA, DEQ, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the proper operation and maintenance requirements of all plant machinery. Ensure equipment is operated according to specifications, and train production and maintenance staff on machine use and care.
- Review and refine PM procedures, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained and functioning as intended.
- Identify and recommend methods, procedures, and equipment improvements to increase line performance and support new operational capabilities.
- Work overtime and weekends as required.
- Follow all Quality, Production, and Safety policies.
- Ability to stand on concrete for up to 8 hours, bend and stoop, and lift up to 75 pounds.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Background / Experience
Extensive knowledge of food-processing equipment and GMP standards is required. Minimum of five years of maintenance experience, including familiarity with controls, electrical systems, plumbing, hydraulic systems, and air-handling equipment.
