Overview
The Managing Director Benelux is responsible for leading and growing the business across Belgium and the Netherlands, ensuring strong operational performance, sustainable financial results, and an exceptional customer experience. The role provides overall leadership for the region, with full accountability for P&L performance, strategic execution, people leadership, operational excellence, and business growth. The Managing Director will work closely with regional and global stakeholders to drive performance, develop talent, strengthen customer relationships, and ensure the business remains aligned with the broader European strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall business performance of the Benelux region, ensuring alignment with the wider European strategic objectives.
- Assume full ownership of regional P&L performance, including revenue growth, profitability, productivity, budgeting, and cost management.
- Drive operational excellence across all sites, ensuring high service levels, customer satisfaction, compliance, and execution consistency.
- Develop and implement regional business strategies to support growth, market expansion, and long-term competitiveness.
- Lead, coach, and develop regional leadership teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, strategic partners, and industry stakeholders.
- Partner closely with Sales, Finance, HR, and other functional leaders to deliver best-in-class business performance.
- Identify and execute continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, profitability, operational efficiency, and customer outcomes.
- Lead organizational change, transformation projects, and business integration activities where required.
- Monitor market dynamics, competitive activity, and regulatory developments to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Ensure full compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, quality standards, and industry best practices.
- Provide regular business updates and performance reporting to senior leadership, including financial, operational, and strategic progress.
Key Requirements
- Proven leadership experience within logistics, freight forwarding, transportation, supply chain, or a related industry.
- Demonstrated success managing multi-site or multi-country operations with full P&L accountability.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to balance growth objectives with operational performance and profitability.
- Experience leading large teams through periods of growth, transformation, and change.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple functions and levels.
- Track record of driving operational excellence, process improvement, and performance management initiatives.
- Excellent financial and analytical capabilities, with experience managing budgets, forecasting, and business performance metrics.
- Strong customer orientation with experience managing strategic client relationships.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, international environment.
