Manufacturing Engineering Manager
SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for ensuring manufacturing capability is in place and aligned to support overall business needs and strategies to include cost, product quality, safety and environmental requirements. This includes functional management of production from the receipt of raw materials to the finished product. Additionally, this position is responsible for day to day technical support and product development support for phosphoric acid and sodium/potassium phosphates, and process engineering support as requested for capital projects.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & FUNCTIONS
- Develops plant operating budget and yearly operating plans and manages manufacturing operations to achieve financial objectives. Schedules expenditures, analyses variances and initiates corrective actions.
- Provides resolution to customer complaints and ensures appropriate corrective and preventative actions are defined and effectively implemented.
- Drives cost awareness and cost improvements in raw materials, utilities, supplies and labor to maximize operational profitability.
- Participate in behavior-based safety effort and right to operate culture at the plant
- Assure professional and career development of employees. Provide timely and appropriate feedback to employees.
- Facilitate resource allocation to ensure essential work requirements are given the appropriate priority.
- Participate in active leadership of plant to ensure financial success of the company.
- Implement technical solutions that provide cost savings to the operations of the plant.
- Provides input into company objectives/long range plans/strategy as appropriate.
- Creates/maintains an environment conducive to good employee/management relations; recognizes the rights/position of other employees; assumes responsibility for addressing problems affecting employee/management relations with immediate supervisor.
- Compiles data; prepares/submits accurate/timely reports, where appropriate; maintains records and/or carries out directions; follows through and completes assignments in acceptable time frames; applies technical and procedural know how to get the job done in an acceptable manner; adjusts behavior for the effective use of time and resources.

EDUCATION & REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Chemical Engineering degree preferred.
- A Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in plant engineering within a manufacturing facility and with supervisory experience.
- Work experience in basic environmental, safety, and health including process safety related to a chemical manufacturing facility.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Proficiency in relevant SAP modules preferred and working knowledge of similar materials management software preferred.
