A leading industrial manufacturing company is seeking a Production Superintendent to oversee day-to-day operations for two high-volume production lines. This role is accountable for managing the end-to-end process from raw material intake through to finished goods, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and operational efficiency. The Production Superintendent also acts as the primary operations lead in the absence of the Production Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Promote and uphold a strong safety culture across the site, ensuring all activities are compliant with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
Maintain compliance with all Health, Safety, Environmental, Energy, and Quality guidelines, including applicable ISO certifications.
Supervise and support shift teams, ensuring daily production targets and safety protocols are met.
Facilitate daily shift handoff meetings and communicate key operational updates across shifts.
Assign tasks and projects based on business priorities, with a clear focus on safety and productivity.
Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback, including participation in formal evaluations.
Review production schedules and allocate workforce accordingly, adjusting as needed for operational demands.
Monitor equipment performance and collaborate with maintenance teams to address issues or inefficiencies.
Complete and maintain accurate documentation for production, safety, and workforce activities.
Conduct audits of standard operating procedures and 6S initiatives, ensuring alignment with best practices.
Manage employee timekeeping and payroll entries with high accuracy.
Serve as the go-to resource for employee relations, development, and training within the shift team.
Support hiring efforts and succession planning through candidate evaluation and team mentoring.
Lead or contribute to root cause investigations, particularly for safety or quality-related incidents.
Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives and encourage a culture of innovation and accountability.
Foster a positive, inclusive work environment focused on high engagement and retention.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Lean Manufacturing certification or similar continuous improvement training is a plus.
Experience:
5-8 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, preferably within industrial operations.
3-5 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role, with demonstrated success managing teams in a fast-paced setting.
