Position Summary
The Project Engineer is responsible for leading and managing major capital projects across multiple operational sites. This role involves cross-functional collaboration, project planning, budgeting, and execution to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of engineering initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee major capital projects across various company sites.
- Define project scope in collaboration with stakeholders including Sales, Production, Maintenance, Safety, Quality, IT, OT, Training, Sustainability, Logistics, Insurance, HR, and Continuous Improvement.
- Develop and manage project budgets and timelines in coordination with internal teams and external contractors.
- Assign tasks to team members and contractors, ensuring accountability and progress tracking.
- Prepare and present project status reports, highlighting critical paths, budgets, schedules, and responsibilities.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, policies, and specifications.
- Define equipment specifications and participate in Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT & SAT).
- Review and interpret engineering drawings including layouts, mechanical, electrical, civil, architectural, and P&ID diagrams.
- Supervise employees and contractors on-site, with a strong focus on safety and schedule adherence.
- Troubleshoot project-related issues such as design interferences, missing components, or installation challenges.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation and support stakeholders throughout the equipment lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field required.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in fieldwork and project planning.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design and visualization software.
- Ability to manage multidisciplinary projects effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven project management and team leadership capabilities.
- Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and best practices.
- Experience with plastics equipment is a plus.

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk, and use hands and arms to reach, push, pull, handle, or feel. The employee must have good vision, color vision, and the ability to focus. The employee may occasionally need to lift up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
- Moderate noise levels and temperature fluctuations typical of industrial or manufacturing settings.
Travel:
- Up to 25% travel may be required.
