DSJ Global is currently partnered with a rapidly growing defense contractor seeking a highly organized and results-driven Project Manager to support and manage a comprehensive portfolio of investment opportunities related to vertically integrating defense resources and manufacturing capabilities. This individual will serve as the central point of coordination and communication for all program activities, providing visibility into schedules, budgets, resources, and overall project health. The Project Manager will collaborate closely with a Corporate Development/M&A Team responsible for advancing the client's strategic growth initiatives. This includes supporting projects related to mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate investments-ensuring alignment with broader business goals and timely execution across key stakeholders.

This position is responsible for maintaining project status tracking, delivering timely and accurate reporting, and establishing a scalable reporting framework to keep executive leadership informed of progress, risks, and resource requirements.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage a centralized portfolio of investment-related projects.
  • Track and report program status across initiatives, including schedules, budgets, resources, deliverables, and milestones.
  • Act as the primary integrator of project data to ensure a consistent and reliable view of performance metrics.
  • Develop and implement standardized reporting structures to consolidate and share portfolio-level insights.
  • Deliver regular updates and executive-level dashboards for senior leadership.
  • Identify risks and recommend solutions to mitigate delays, resource constraints, and other project challenges.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration among engineering, finance, operations, and strategy teams.
  • Ensure project execution remains aligned with the client's strategic investment objectives.
  • Support proposal development, funding justifications, and executive decision-making briefings as needed.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience, preferably within defense, aerospace, manufacturing, or investment-focused environments.

Certifications:

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
  • Agile or Lean Six Sigma certifications are a plus.

Technical & Analytical Skills:

  • Deep understanding of project lifecycle management, including budget planning, scheduling, and resource management.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, Asana, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to distill complex data into clear, actionable insights and executive-level communications.
  • Familiarity with financial modeling, ROI analysis, or capital investment planning is advantageous.

Soft Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities to manage multiple high-priority tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interface effectively with both technical teams and senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority.
  • Strategic thinker with a detail-oriented, proactive approach to problem-solving.

Security & Industry Considerations:

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Knowledge of defense industry regulations, DoD acquisition processes, or government contracting is beneficial.
