Project Process Engineer (M/F/D)
A leading European pharmaceutical company, recently spun off from a major global healthcare group is seeking to strengthen its engineering team. The company specializes in the development and manufacturing of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) services.
With a diverse portfolio of APIs, the company operates multiple state-of-the-art production and development sites across Europe (France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, and the UK), generating revenues of around one billion euros in 2024.
Responsibilities:
- Independent and timely preparation of feasibility studies, concepts, and basic and detailed engineering for GMP-compliant facilities
- Commissioning and coordination of internal departments and external service providers to support project execution efficiently
- Preparation of tender documents (e.g., specifications), evaluation of offers, and conducting contract award negotiations
- Coordination and management of various disciplines and subcontractors during planning and execution phases
- Development and continuous improvement of methods and tools to enhance process efficiency
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Degree in process engineering, chemical engineering, or a comparable field
- Project management training and certification are advantageous
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in executing plant engineering projects, preferably in the pharmaceutical or chemical industry
- Proven experience managing projects with a CAPEX budget of at least €5 million
- Strong background in creating process flow diagrams and designing plant technologies
- In-depth knowledge of applicable engineering regulations and standards (e.g., ATEX, Machinery Directive, Operational Safety Ordinance)
- Experience in GMP-regulated plant engineering
- Structured, solution-oriented working style with a high level of initiative
- Enthusiasm for new challenges and topics
- Strong team spirit, commitment, and entrepreneurial thinking
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Fluent in German and proficient in English
