Quality Control Supervisor
A leading provider of premium meats and artisan cheeses is seeking a motivated Quality Control Supervisor to join their team. The Quality Control Supervisor will oversee quality assurance activities during the second shift, ensuring all products meet regulatory and company standards. This critical role is essential for maintaining food safety, supporting production teams, and fostering a culture of quality throughout the facility.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise QC Technicians during the 2nd shift
- Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards
- Monitor production, perform audits, and maintain documentation
- Address quality issues and non-conformance's
- Collaborate with teams to resolve quality problems
- Support production in maintaining quality standards
- Communicate quality issues to management
- Train team members on quality and food safety procedures
- Ensure adherence to protocols
- Stay updated on food safety regulations
- Maintain quality records
- Prepare reports for management
- Assist with audits and corrective actions
- Ensure accurate documentation for shift handover
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field (preferred)
- 2+ years of quality assurance experience in a food manufacturing environment
- Previous supervisory or team lead experience is a plus
- Strong understanding of HACCP, GMPs, and food safety standards
- Ability to work independently and make quick decisions under pressure
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- SQF knowledge preferred
- Experience working with USDA inspectors is a plus
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel)
- Experience in premium meat processing operations is beneficial
