Quality Engineer - Home Appliances
About the Role
We are looking for a detail‑oriented and technically skilled Quality Technologist to support our home appliances and electrical product categories. This role plays a critical part in ensuring all products meet regulatory requirements, safety standards, and retailer quality expectations. You will work closely with suppliers, laboratories, and internal teams to maintain high product standards and deliver safe, reliable products to consumers.
Key Responsibilities
Product Quality & Compliance
- Conduct quality evaluations for home appliances and electrical items across small domestic appliances, seasonal electric products, and household consumer electronics.
- Ensure compliance with international and regional safety standards (e.g., IEC/EN standards, energy labelling requirements, and retailer-specific guidelines).
- Review product specifications, test reports, risk assessments, and technical documentation.
Testing & Inspection
- Work with third‑party labs to arrange safety, performance, and reliability testing.
- Conduct on‑site inspections, production line audits, and factory evaluations when required.
- Identify potential quality risks and recommend corrective actions and preventive measures.
Supplier & Stakeholder Coordination
- Partner with suppliers to resolve quality issues, monitor product improvement plans, and ensure consistent compliance.
- Provide technical advice to internal buyers, sourcing teams, and merchandisers.
- Support product development from prototype to mass production from a quality standpoint.
Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
- Track quality performance, testing status, and incident trends to drive improvements.
- Maintain documentation, quality guidelines, and internal standards.
- Support incident investigations, product recalls, and non‑conformance reporting when applicable.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical) or related technical discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience in quality assurance or product compliance related to home appliances or electrical consumer goods.
- Strong knowledge of appliance safety standards and regulatory frameworks.
- Hands‑on experience with product testing, factory audits, and quality risk assessment.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
- Experience working with retail groups or trading companies is desired.
- Fuency of English, Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese is required.
