Quality Engineer
Job Summary:
The Quality Engineer ensures that products and processes meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements within a heavy industrial equipment manufacturing environment. This role involves developing and implementing quality control systems, conducting root cause analyses, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain quality assurance procedures, inspection protocols, and testing standards.
- Conduct audits and inspections of manufacturing processes, materials, and finished products.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) initiatives for quality issues.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to resolve quality concerns and improve processes.
- Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ASME, ANSI) and customer specifications.
- Support new product development with quality planning and risk assessments (e.g., FMEA).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 3-5+ years of experience in quality engineering within heavy manufacturing or industrial equipment.
- Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, SPC, 8D, FMEA).
- Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT), welding standards, and heavy fabrication processes is a plus.
- Proficiency in quality management systems (QMS) and data analysis tools.
