Quality Engineer
Job Summary:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that products and processes meet established quality standards within a heavy machinery manufacturing environment. This role supports production teams by identifying quality issues, implementing corrective actions, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections, audits, and testing of components and finished machinery to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
- Analyze quality data and lead root cause investigations for non-conformances and customer complaints.
- Develop and maintain quality documentation including control plans, work instructions, and inspection procedures.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
- Support internal and external audits, including ISO and customer-specific requirements.
- Utilize quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, and 8D to drive problem-solving and process improvements.
Qualifications:
- Experience in quality engineering within heavy manufacturing or industrial equipment sectors.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, welding, machining, and fabrication processes.
- Proficiency in quality methodologies and tools (e.g., Six Sigma, root cause analysis).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field (CQE certification preferred).
