Position Summary
The Senior Director of Procurement will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies that support operational excellence, cost efficiency, and supply chain resilience. This role will oversee all direct and indirect sourcing activities, supplier negotiations, contract management, and procurement analytics across multiple product categories.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the company's procurement strategy aligned with business goals and growth plans.
- Manage a team of procurement professionals and foster a high-performance, collaborative culture.
- Oversee sourcing of raw materials, packaging, and indirect goods/services to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships; lead negotiations to secure favorable terms and mitigate risks.
- Implement procurement best practices, including category management, supplier scorecards, and cost modeling.
- Collaborate with R&D, Operations, Quality, and Finance to support new product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, regulatory, and sustainability standards.
- Leverage ERP and procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) to drive data-driven decision-making and reporting.
- Monitor market trends, commodity pricing, and global supply chain dynamics to inform sourcing strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Food Science, or related field (Master's or MBA preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive procurement experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within food or CPG manufacturing.
- Proven track record of delivering cost savings, supplier performance improvements, and strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of food industry regulations, quality standards, and sustainability practices.
- Excellent negotiation, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in procurement systems and analytics tools; SAP experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.
