Senior Quality Manager

Our client is a leading distributor and processor of fresh-cut fruits, vegetables, and meal solutions, operating USDA-inspected facilities with a strong commitment to food safety, quality, and innovation. As Senior Quality Manager, you'll lead quality and food safety programs across multiple sites, mentor a growing QA team, and drive continuous improvement. This is a high-impact role with clear growth potential to Director level, ideal for a hands-on leader passionate about developing people and ensuring excellence in fresh food production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Mentorship

    • Lead, coach, and develop a team of QA professionals across production sites.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and quality excellence.
  • Food Safety & Regulatory Compliance

    • Ensure full compliance with USDA, FDA, HACCP, and GFSI standards.
    • Oversee audits, inspections, and certification processes across all facilities.
    • Maintain and enhance food safety programs, including traceability and recall readiness.
  • Quality Systems & Process Improvement

    • Drive implementation and optimization of quality systems and SOPs.
    • Analyze quality metrics and lead root cause investigations and CAPAs.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product consistency and shelf life.
  • Customer & Supplier Engagement

    • Serve as the quality liaison for key customers and regulatory bodies.
    • Oversee supplier quality programs and conduct supplier audits as needed.
  • Strategic Initiatives

    • Support innovation and new product development from a quality perspective.
    • Contribute to strategic planning and readiness for future expansion.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in food quality assurance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of USDA regulations, HACCP, and GFSI schemes (e.g., SQF, BRC).
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor teams in a fast-paced, perishable food environment.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills.
