Position Overview:
The Senior R&D Engineer plays a pivotal role in driving innovation by designing, developing, and enhancing products and processes through experimentation, testing, and creative problem-solving. This hybrid position offers the flexibility of remote work combined with on-site collaboration, fostering both autonomy and teamwork. The role involves working cross-functionally to develop new technologies and refine existing ones, ensuring products exceed customer expectations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead technology research and prototype development initiatives.
- Apply scientific methods and data analysis to uncover new opportunities and solve complex challenges.
- Conduct statistical analysis on trial data to derive actionable insights.
- Develop comprehensive trial plans and reports using standardized formats.
- Design products and define material and finished product specifications for cross-functional use.
- Resolve customer and consumer issues by leveraging internal and external resources and insights from adjacent categories.
- Drive raw material initiatives to enhance quality, reduce costs, and improve performance in collaboration with procurement, marketing, and operations.
- Partner with operations and engineering teams to enhance manufacturing capabilities and implement impactful process improvements.
- Support analytical troubleshooting in production environments.
- Provide expertise in materials optimization and problem-solving for fibers, polymers, inks, and additives.
- Monitor global markets to identify and evaluate emerging product technologies.
- Continuously develop personal expertise in research principles, scientific analysis, and project management.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in technical roles within consumer products, engineering, or operations.
- Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities, including data analysis and solution development.
- Strong leadership and change management skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Willingness to travel up to 35%.
