Sourcing Specialist - Direct Materials
Job Summary
An established global manufacturer is seeking a Sourcing Specialist to support strategic sourcing initiatives that drive cost efficiency, supplier reliability, and organizational value. In this role, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, participate in supplier negotiations, support contract development, and help ensure uninterrupted material supply through effective vendor management. Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate, track, and support completion of sourcing activities and organizational initiatives.
- Participate in sourcing events for mid‑ to low‑value spend categories.
- Assist in developing and documenting sourcing processes and systems.
- Support analytics teams with monthly KPI reporting.
- Execute competitive bid events (RFQs), evaluate supplier responses, and recommend awards.
- Monitor supplier contracts and pricing compliance.
- Support sourcing needs for new product development initiatives.
- Ensure supplier adherence to relevant regulations and assist with supplier registration processes.
- Manage vendor setup in coordination with Finance/AP.
- Other duties as assigned; travel required approximately 10-20%.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; bachelor's degree (Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field) strongly preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in sourcing, commodity management, or purchasing; direct materials experience preferred.
- Proven ability to implement measurable supply chain improvements.
Skills & Competencies
- Experience in centralized procurement environments, preferably manufacturing.
- Strong negotiation skills with success in short‑ and long‑term agreements.
- Broad supply chain knowledge and material category understanding.
- Analytical, communication, and cross‑functional project leadership capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and perform under pressure.
- Strong business and financial acumen.
