Base Salary Range: $165,000 - $197,000 + 20% bonus
Summary:
A Global Fortune 500 manufacturer is seeking a strategic and hands-on Senior Manager to lead the Process Control Department at its high-volume paper production facility. This role is ideal for a seasoned leader with deep expertise in automation and control systems who thrives in dynamic environments and is passionate about driving operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of Process Control Engineers supporting mill-wide control systems.
- Oversee reliability and optimization of PLCs, DCS, QCS, and WIS across the facility.
- Manage departmental budget and vendor/service contracts.
- Support capital projects, system upgrades, and process improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and participate in proactive safety programs.
- Coordinate software updates, backups, and troubleshooting for control systems.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to improve product quality, efficiency, and cost performance.
- Maintain technical skill inventory and training plans for department personnel.
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide support during weekends or altered schedules as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in process control within a manufacturing setting (paper/pulp, chemicals, mining, or steel - preferred)
- Strong background in paper industry control systems, including QCS and WIS.
- Proven leadership in managing technical teams and driving change.
- Skilled in troubleshooting, diagnostics, and structured problem-solving (Lean, Six Sigma, RCA).
- Experience in capital project management and cross-departmental coordination.
- Willingness to work in an on-call capacity
