Our Client is a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging solutions, supporting customers across food & beverage, industrial, and specialty markets. The company operates modern manufacturing facilities focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement, with capabilities in blown film extrusion, injection molding, and other plastics processing technologies.

Position Overview

The Plant Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and strategic direction of the manufacturing facility. This role oversees all aspects of plant operations including production, safety, quality, maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

This is a highly visible leadership position requiring a hands-on, results-driven professional who can drive operational excellence, build strong teams, and ensure consistent delivery against production, cost, and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all plant operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives
  • Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with company goals
  • Drive a culture of safety-first, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company standards
  • Oversee production processes including blown film extrusion, injection molding, and plastics manufacturing operations
  • Establish and monitor KPIs (efficiency, scrap, uptime, labor productivity) and implement improvements
  • Build, develop, and mentor leadership teams including supervisors and department managers
  • Partner with Quality to maintain high standards and resolve customer or internal non-conformances
  • Collaborate with Maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and capital planning
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, waste reduction, process optimization)
  • Manage budgeting, cost control, and financial performance of the facility
  • Work cross-functionally with supply chain, sales, and leadership to meet customer demands
  • Ensure proper staffing, workforce planning, and employee engagement

Qualifications

  • 7-10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, including plant or operations management
  • Background in plastics manufacturing strongly preferred
  • Experience with blown film extrusion highly preferred
  • Exposure to injection molding operations highly preferred
  • Experience in packaging, plastics, or related industries required
  • Background in regulated or high-quality environments (automotive, aerospace, pharmaceutical) is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Preferred Skills & Competencies

  • Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred
  • Strong leadership presence with proven ability to build and develop high-performing teams
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing operations, process optimization, and plant performance metrics
  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies
  • Financial acumen including budgeting, cost control, and P&L responsibility
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Effective communicator with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
  • Results-oriented with a strong sense of accountability and urgency

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing/plant setting with exposure to heavy machinery, noise, and varying temperatures
  • Ability to be present on the production floor for extended periods
  • Flexibility to support off-shifts, weekends, or critical production needs as required
