Plant Manager
Position Summary:
As Plant Manager you will lead a complex chemical manufacturing operation, providing strategic and day-to-day leadership across production, engineering, quality, maintenance, and EHS. This individual will be responsible for driving operational performance, employee development, and continuous improvement initiatives while supporting long-term growth objectives. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with proven leadership experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership of the facility, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operations while achieving quality, service, productivity, and cost objectives.
- Develop and execute site strategies related to capacity expansion, capital investments, operational excellence, workforce planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead and develop manufacturing and technical teams, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, employee engagement, and positive labor relations.
- Drive process optimization, problem-solving, and performance improvement efforts while ensuring compliance with EHS, PSM, and quality management systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Operations, or a related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of manufacturing leadership experience within chemical, materials, specialty manufacturing, or other process-driven environments, including experience leading operations in a union setting.
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, Process Safety Management (PSM), quality systems, continuous improvement methodologies, and operational best practices.
- Proven track record leading capital projects, operational improvement initiatives, and high-performing cross-functional teams.
