SUMMARY

We are a global specialty chemicals manufacturer seeking a hands-on Procurement Manager to oversee both strategic sourcing initiatives and day-to-day purchasing operations. This role supports a growing manufacturing operation and is responsible for supplier management, contract negotiations, raw material procurement, MRO purchasing, demand forecasting, and ensuring uninterrupted supply to production. Working closely with both local leadership and international procurement teams, this position offers a blend of strategic decision-making and operational execution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead sourcing strategy and supplier management activities across raw materials, chemicals, logistics, and indirect spend categories, balancing long-term procurement objectives with day-to-day manufacturing requirements.
  • Drive competitive sourcing events, supplier negotiations, and contract management initiatives to improve cost, service, quality, and supply reliability.
  • Develop and maintain a high-performing supplier network, including dual-source strategies, risk mitigation plans, and supplier performance scorecards to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Serve as a key business partner to Operations, Production, Quality, Logistics, R&D, and Finance teams, aligning procurement activities with production schedules, inventory targets, and business priorities.
  • Manage the full purchasing lifecycle, including purchase order execution, order tracking, supplier communication, invoice reconciliation, and issue resolution to support plant operations.
  • Monitor inventory positions, material availability, and supplier lead times to proactively address shortages, disruptions, and changing production demands.
  • Lead supplier quality and performance improvement initiatives, including corrective actions, non-conformance investigations, and continuous improvement programs.
  • Analyze market conditions, pricing trends, and supply risks to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and enhanced procurement performance.
  • Track procurement KPIs, budget performance, and sourcing results, providing regular updates and executive-level reporting to local and corporate leadership teams.
  • Champion procurement best practices, compliance initiatives, ESG objectives, and operational excellence efforts across North American procurement activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years of procurement or purchasing leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with direct and indirect procurement of raw materials, chemicals, and MRO/Facilities commodities
  • Strong background in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and vendor management.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and procurement analytics.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate across multiple business functions.
  • Exposure to international suppliers and global sourcing strategies is highly desirable.
