Senior Buyer
I am partnering with a well-established manufacturing organization seeking a Senior Buyer to support sourcing, procurement, and supplier management activities within a complex manufacturing environment.
This role will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, issuing RFQs, negotiating pricing and delivery terms, supporting production requirements, and collaborating closely with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure continuity of supply.
Responsibilities
- Manage purchasing activities for direct materials, components, and manufacturing services
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies to improve cost, quality, and delivery performance
- Issue RFQs, evaluate supplier quotations, and negotiate commercial terms
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while supporting supplier qualification efforts
- Monitor MRP requirements and place orders to support production schedules
- Expedite critical materials and proactively address supply chain risks
- Partner with Engineering on new part introductions, specifications, and sourcing initiatives
- Evaluate supplier performance and implement corrective actions when necessary
- Support inventory optimization and cost reduction initiatives
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain teams
Qualifications
- 5+ years of purchasing, sourcing, procurement, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems
- Strong supplier negotiation and relationship management experience
- Background sourcing machined components, fabricated parts, mechanical assemblies, or industrial materials preferred
- Ability to work effectively with Engineering, Operations, and Production teams
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
