Distribution Center Manager
About the Role
A leading building materials manufacturer is seeking a Distribution Center Manager to lead a high-volume distribution operation and drive best-in-class performance across warehousing, inventory, transportation, and customer service. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of distribution center operations, including staffing, safety, shipping and receiving, inventory accuracy, budget management, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will build and develop high-performing teams, establish operational standards, monitor and improve KPIs, optimize facility layout and workflows, and ensure on-time delivery for customers. This position will also lead Lean initiatives, support root cause analysis efforts, manage customer relationships, collaborate with other distribution facilities, and ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and all applicable regulations. The successful individual will be a hands-on leader with a strong background in warehouse and logistics management, a commitment to safety and operational excellence, and a proven ability to drive productivity, efficiency, and service performance within a fast-paced building materials environment.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree preferred in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field
4+ years of warehousing experience in a distribution, logistics, or manufacturing environment
4+ years of supervisory or leadership experience managing warehouse teams
Proven experience overseeing shipping, receiving, inventory control, and distribution operations
Experience utilizing KPIs, Lean methodologies, and continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational performance
Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and applicable regulatory compliance requirements
Job Qualifications
Strong background in warehouse, logistics, and inventory management operations
Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate high-performing teams
Experience improving inventory accuracy and operational efficiency
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with root cause analysis experience
Budget management and cost control experience within a distribution environment
Excellent communication, leadership, and customer relationship management skills
