Environmental Health and Safety Manager

This position may report to the Director, Global HR Support Services or the Manager, Global Environmental, Health and Safety. It oversees the creation, execution, and maintenance of a comprehensive Environmental, Health, and Safety Management System for a local plant site or regional area. The role is responsible for ensuring adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations and standards concerning safety, health, and the environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Maintain EHS Programs: Oversee the creation, implementation, and management of EHS programs, procedures, practices, and training, including hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all environmental, health, and safety regulations and standards through on-site inspection and monitoring programs
  • Set Goals and Evaluate Programs: Establish and implement functional goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures; monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and make necessary improvements.
  • Collaborate and Advise: Consult and collaborate with site leadership on EHS issues, programs, processes, and systems; stay current on changing laws and regulations and advise leadership on their impact
  • Promote Communication and Awareness: Enhance member awareness of health, safety, and environmental compliance through effective communication programs.
  • Manage Remediation and Relations: Oversee soil and groundwater remediation activities, develop and maintain relations with government agencies and communities, and support global EHS projects.


Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) Occupational Health, Environmental Science or Hazardous Materials Technology required
  • 5+ years of experience of related work required
  • Solid understanding and experience of EHS issues in manufacturing environment
  • Basic knowledge of chemistry and analytical methodologies
