Metallurgy Engineer (Foundry/Casting)
This role is with a growing metals manufacturing organization in the Peoria, Illinois area seeking a Metallurgy Engineer to support iron casting and foundry operations. The engineer will be responsible for optimizing metallurgical processes, improving product quality, reducing defects, and troubleshooting manufacturing challenges. Working closely with production, quality, and engineering teams, this individual will apply materials science and metallurgical principles to drive continuous improvement initiatives, conduct failure analysis, and support process development efforts.
The position offers significant exposure to process optimization, materials testing, laboratory analysis, and new product development within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Candidates with experience in metallurgy, foundry operations, casting processes, materials engineering, or manufacturing engineering are highly preferred. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who enjoys analyzing data, identifying root causes, and implementing solutions that improve operational performance, manufacturing efficiency, and product reliability.
