O&M Procurement Manager

We are supporting a leading global renewable energy owner and operator on their search for a Procurement Manager. This role sits within the North American procurement organization and is responsible for leading sourcing, tendering, negotiation, award, and post-award commercial support across a broad range of procurement categories supporting utility-scale solar, wind, and battery energy storage assets. The Procurement Manager will partner closely with Operations, Asset Management, Engineering, HSE, Legal, Finance, and other stakeholders to develop sourcing strategies, negotiate commercial agreements, manage supplier relationships, and support the reliable and cost-effective execution of renewable energy projects and operating assets.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary procurement point of contact for assigned spend categories and stakeholder groups across renewable energy operations and project activities
  • Develop and maintain procurement plans that align with business objectives, budgets, project schedules, and operational requirements
  • Lead competitive sourcing initiatives including supplier identification, prequalification, RFI/RFP/RFQ development, bid evaluation, negotiations, supplier selection, and contract award
  • Negotiate commercial agreements, purchase orders, service contracts, amendments, renewals, and change orders to achieve competitive pricing and appropriate risk allocation
  • Partner with legal, finance, insurance, engineering, HSE, operations, and asset management teams to develop commercial agreements that support project and business objectives
  • Conduct supplier market assessments, pricing analysis, and industry benchmarking to support sourcing strategies and supplier selection decisions
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while monitoring supplier capabilities, market developments, pricing trends, and commercial risks
  • Support stakeholders following contract award by assisting with supplier performance issues, commercial questions, contract modifications, and procurement-related activities
  • Manage contract amendments, renewals, extensions, and change orders in accordance with company approval processes and governance requirements
  • Maintain procurement documentation, sourcing records, supplier communications, award recommendations, and audit-ready contract files
  • Develop spend analysis, pricing benchmarks, supplier performance data, and procurement intelligence to support budgeting and future sourcing efforts
  • Identify cost savings opportunities, process improvements, and supplier optimization initiatives across the procurement function
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with internal governance, ethics requirements, competitive bidding standards, and risk management policies

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • 5+ years of procurement, sourcing, contract management, or commercial experience
  • Experience supporting energy, infrastructure, industrial, construction, manufacturing, or renewable energy environments
  • Strong commercial negotiation and supplier management experience
  • Experience managing sourcing events, supplier evaluations, contract negotiations, and award processes
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple sourcing initiatives and stakeholder priorities simultaneously
  • Strong commercial judgment and understanding of procurement and contract administration principles

Preferred Skills & Attributes

  • Experience within renewable energy, utilities, power generation, infrastructure, or industrial sectors
  • Experience managing complex supplier relationships and commercial agreements
  • Professional certifications such as CPSM, CIPS, PMP, or related credentials
  • Experience with SAP, SAP Ariba, or similar procurement and sourcing platforms
  • Strong understanding of total cost of ownership, supplier performance management, and procurement best practices
  • Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
