Staff Supplier Quality Engineer

An industry-leading advanced technology manufacturer is seeking a Staff Supplier Quality Engineer to play a critical role in supporting new product introductions, supplier development, and manufacturing quality across highly complex electronic and electromechanical products. This position will partner closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Supplier partners to drive quality excellence, improve supplier performance, and ensure world-class product reliability.

The Responsibilities of the Staff Supplier Quality Engineer Will Include:

  • Lead supplier quality initiatives for PCB, PCBA, and electronic component manufacturers.
  • Conduct supplier audits, assessments, and manufacturing process evaluations.
  • Drive supplier qualification activities including FAI, PVT, process validation, and readiness reviews.
  • Develop and implement quality planning tools including Control Plans, PFMEAs, and inspection strategies.
  • Manage supplier corrective actions (SCARs), root cause investigations, and 8D problem-solving activities.
  • Partner with Design, Electrical, Manufacturing, and Quality Engineering teams throughout NPI and production.
  • Analyze supplier quality data, yield trends, and field performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Establish supplier KPIs and scorecards focused on quality, reliability, responsiveness, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive defect reduction and risk mitigation initiatives across the supply base.
  • Support manufacturing scale-up activities while ensuring compliance with quality and reliability requirements.

The Ideal Staff Supplier Quality Engineer Will Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Quality, or related functions.
  • Strong knowledge of PCB fabrication, PCBA manufacturing, SMT processes, and electronic assembly.
  • Experience with supplier audits, process qualification, and supplier development programs.
  • Hands-on expertise with APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, CAPA, FAI, and 8D methodologies.
  • Proven success supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and manufacturing scale-up environments.
  • Ability to analyze quality data and drive measurable improvements in supplier performance.
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, process controls, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Exceptional communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience working within high-growth, technology-driven manufacturing environments preferred.
