Director Supply Chain
DSJ Global is currently partnered with a rapid-growth manufacturer in Charlotte, NC looking to bring on a Director of Supply Chain.
The Director of Supply Chain oversees global planning, procurement, logistics, and warehousing of finished goods. This role requires making strategic decisions that balance cost efficiency with high service standards to meet the needs of a global customer base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and purchasing team responsible for global supply planning, freight and brokerage operations, import/export compliance, and regulatory matters related to international trade.
- Oversee collaboration with contract manufacturers to manage order quantities, lead times, and the buy/sell process for finished goods.
- Provide direct leadership of a North American distribution center and indirect oversight of third-party logistics partners in Europe and Asia.
- Manage U.S.-based supplier relationships, including price negotiations, lead-time control, and commercial agreements.
- Lead demand forecasting efforts in collaboration with global sales and marketing teams to ensure product availability.
- Analyze supply and demand data to maintain optimal inventory levels and service performance.
- Partner with customer service and sales teams to meet and exceed client expectations.
- Work closely with engineering and global manufacturing partners to support product development and speed to market.
- Develop scalable supply chain processes to support company growth and innovation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in supply chain or purchasing, including at least 7 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Self-starter with a strong balance of strategic thinking and tactical execution.
- Strong organizational skills with a focus on accuracy and follow-through.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities with a results-driven mindset.
- Experience leading change initiatives that deliver measurable improvements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence across departments and with external partners.
- Willingness to travel (approximately 10%) to suppliers, offices, and distribution centers as needed.
