Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Master Scheduler to lead production planning and scheduling activities for a growing manufacturing operation in St. Petersburg, Florida. This position plays a critical role in balancing customer demand, production capacity, inventory levels, and material availability to ensure on-time delivery and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in manufacturing planning and scheduling, experience leading planning teams, and expertise working within ERP systems, preferably Epicor. This individual will manage a team of 3 planners while partnering closely with Production, Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, and Customer Service teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 3 Planners, establishing priorities and driving accountability across scheduling activities.
  • Create and maintain the master production schedule to support customer demand, inventory objectives, and manufacturing capacity constraints.
  • Coordinate production schedules across multiple product lines and manufacturing work centers.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Operations, and Inventory teams to ensure material availability aligns with production requirements.
  • Monitor schedule attainment, capacity utilization, and inventory performance while proactively addressing bottlenecks and constraints.
  • Analyze demand forecasts and adjust production schedules to minimize disruptions and optimize throughput.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to planning processes, schedule accuracy, lead times, and inventory management.
  • Utilize ERP systems to manage production orders, planning parameters, inventory levels, and reporting.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) including on-time delivery, schedule adherence, inventory turns, forecast accuracy, and production efficiency.
  • Partner with manufacturing leadership to support S&OP and production planning initiatives.
  • Ensure planning processes support operational goals, customer satisfaction, and business growth.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5+ years of production scheduling, planning, or master scheduling experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous leadership experience managing planners, schedulers, or supply chain professionals.
  • Strong background in manufacturing operations and production planning processes.
  • Experience creating and maintaining master production schedules in a complex manufacturing environment.
  • ERP system experience required; Epicor experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and planning-related reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • APICS/ASCM CPIM certification.
  • Experience supporting S&OP processes.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.
  • Experience working in a make-to-stock, make-to-order, or mixed-mode manufacturing environment.
