Sr. Engineering Manager

The Senior Engineering Manager will provide technical leadership for the Process/Product Engineering and Technical Tooling team at a leading aerospace company. This individual will drive continuous improvement initiatives while managing engineering budgets and New Product Introduction (NPI) projects. They will be responsible for managing a team of engineers and technicians, leading strategic organizational development, and implementing training programs for engineering staff.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Process/Product Engineering & Technical Tooling Team.
  • Provide technical support of manufacturing processes and provide a high-quality product in adherence to customer specifications.
  • Lead initiatives related to product yield improvements, variation reduction, and cost reduction goals.
  • Direct and manage engineering efforts regarding product tool/part designs and standards.
  • Manage engineering budgets.
  • Manage and direct the New Product Introduction (NPI) initiative ensuring product development in accordance with overall project timelines, budget, and standards.
  • Develop the overall plant scrap reduction strategy and track progress.
  • Work with the process engineering team to achieve all plant financial and scrap reduction metrics.
  • Report on the status of major projects to plant manager and senior leadership.
  • Direct conception, evaluation and implementation of cost improvement, product improvement and production problem solving activities.
  • Establish strong working relationships with senior leadership and engineering team and promote engineering team's cross-functional communication.
  • Facilitate strong communication with external clients in order to ensure products align with their specifications and budgets.
  • Responsible for developing the future strategic engineering organizational structure.
  • Create an environment continued development for engineering staff
  • Manage training development strategies and programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Employees must be U.S. person (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee) according to government regulations.
  • 10+ years of engineering leadership or related technical experience.
  • Strong technical background in a heavy manufacturing environment (tooling, casting, machining, finishing).
  • Bilingual English Spanish.
  • High level of mentorship & team collaboration approach.
  • High Level of PC skills, including a high proficiency in Microsoft Office package.
  • High Level of written & verbal communications skills.
