Account Manager
About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Account Manager to manage and grow key customer relationships while driving new business opportunities within the metal manufacturing and contract manufacturing space. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing account management with business development, serving as the primary commercial contact for customers while identifying opportunities to expand revenue. The successful candidate will work closely with operations, engineering, and sourcing teams to support customer projects from RFQ through production. This position requires strong technical manufacturing knowledge, the ability to understand customer specifications and drawings, and experience supporting a variety of metal manufacturing processes. The role is remote-based with occasional travel and offers the opportunity to work with customers across diverse industries including industrial manufacturing, automotive, defense, and consumer products.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Account Management, Business Development, Technical Sales, or Sales Engineering within metal manufacturing
- Proven experience managing and growing existing customer accounts while developing new business opportunities
- Background working with metal manufacturing products and processes
- Experience with one or more of the following:
- Die Casting
- Sand Casting
- Metal Injection Molding (MIM)
- CNC Machining
- Sheet Metal Manufacturing
- CNC and Sheet Metal Fabrication
- Ability to review customer drawings, specifications, tolerances, and manufacturing requirements
- Experience managing RFQs, quotations, pricing discussions, and contract negotiations
- Comfortable working directly with operations, engineering, quality, and sourcing teams
- Experience supporting domestic and global manufacturing or supply chain environments
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and production capabilities
- Proven track record of meeting revenue growth and sales targets
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent industry experience considered
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Demonstrated success in B2B industrial or manufacturing sales environments
- Ability to manage multiple customer accounts and projects simultaneously
- Experience with CRM systems and sales pipeline management
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a remote environment
- Strong problem-solving and customer service skills
- Ability to identify new opportunities within existing accounts
- Experience selling contract manufacturing, engineered components, fabricated products, castings, machined parts, or related metal products preferred
- Ability to travel to customer sites, manufacturing facilities, and industry events as needed
- Experience working with industrial equipment, automotive, defense, consumer products, semiconductor, or related manufacturing sectors is a plus
