Application Development Project Manager (M/F/D)
Our client is an international specialist in high‑performance engineering plastics, supporting leading automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers worldwide.
In this role, you will act as a technical project manager and application expert, working at the interface of automotive customers, materials engineering and injection moulding technology. You will lead development projects that help replace metal components with advanced plastic solutions - improving performance, weight and cost efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Lead customer development projects within the automotive sector
- Provide technical consulting on:
- Material selection
- Plastic component design
- Injection moulding process optimisation
- Conduct trials, sampling and validations:
- In internal injection moulding technology centres
- At customer production sites
- Prepare feasibility studies, technical concepts and cost calculations
- Work closely with R&D, production, materials analysis, sales and marketing
- Monitor market trends and new automotive technologies
- Deliver technical presentations and support internal training activities
Requirements
- Degree in Plastics Engineering, Materials Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- Hands‑on experience with:
- Injection moulding
- Design of technical plastic components
- Strong interest in modern automotive technologies (EVs, lightweighting, powertrain, thermal management)
- Structured, proactive and project‑driven mindset
- Comfortable working with customers and cross‑functional teams
- Strong English skills (written and spoken)
- Motivated, curious, and willing to take ownership of technical projects
