Position

Branch Manager Germany - Time Critical / AOG Logistics
Location: Frankfurt Airport Area (FRA), Germany

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Launch and manage the daily operations of the German branch
  • Ensure 24/7 operational readiness for time-critical and AOG shipments
  • Supervise international airfreight, road freight, and hand-carry operations
  • Coordinate urgent shipments with airlines, handlers, customs brokers, and transport providers
  • Maintain high service quality standards and operational KPIs
  • Manage escalations and critical operational situations

Branch Development

  • Support the setup and development of the German entity
  • Implement operational procedures and local workflows
  • Establish local supplier and carrier networks
  • Contribute to the setup and management of an IATA CASS account
  • Support future regulatory and security compliance processes (e.g. Regulated Agent status)

Customs & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with German and international freight forwarding regulations
  • Oversee customs procedures and operational documentation
  • Ensure adherence to labour, transport, and aviation regulations
  • Maintain operational and security standards in line with industry requirements

Team Management

  • Recruit, train, and develop the local operations team
  • Build a strong, service-driven and responsive operational culture
  • Manage shift planning and operational continuity
  • Act as the main point of contact for the German branch

Commercial Support

  • Support business development activities within the German market
  • Maintain relationships with airlines, MROs, handlers, and logistics partners
  • Identify growth opportunities within aviation and time-critical logistics sectors

Candidate Profile

Required Experience

  • Strong background in international freight forwarding and logistics
  • Experience in time-critical, emergency logistics or AOG operations (highly preferred)
  • Solid knowledge of airfreight operations and international transport coordination
  • Previous management or supervisory experience
  • Good understanding of customs procedures and regulatory compliance

Skills & Competencies

  • Fluent English and German required
  • Strong operational mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Entrepreneurial and autonomous approach
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Capability to build processes and structures from the ground up

Additional Advantages

  • Existing network within airlines, handlers, or logistics providers in Germany
  • Experience with IATA CASS or airline relationship management
  • Track record in launching or developing a freight forwarding branch
  • Knowledge of aviation logistics and aircraft spare parts transportation
