We are currently looking for an experienced Business Development Manager - Ocean Freight to join our team in Antwerp. This role is ideal for a commercially driven professional with a strong network in ocean freight and a passion for building long-term customer relationships.
About the Role
As Business Development Manager - Ocean, you will be responsible for driving new business growth, expanding customer partnerships, and strengthening our presence in the Belgian market. You will work closely with internal operations and pricing teams to deliver competitive, end‑to‑end ocean freight solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, target, and secure new ocean freight business opportunities in Belgium
- Develop and manage a strong pipeline of import/export customers
- Build long-term relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders
- Prepare and present tailored ocean freight solutions and commercial proposals
- Negotiate rates and contracts in collaboration with pricing and operations teams
- Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity
- Achieve and exceed revenue and growth targets
- Represent the company at industry events, meetings, and trade shows
Your Profile
Proven experience as a BDM / Sales Manager in Ocean Freight or freight forwarding
Strong knowledge of FCL, LCL, carrier negotiations, and trade lanes
Established client network within the Belgian logistics or shipping market
Excellent commercial, negotiation, and closing skills
Self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable working independently
Strong communication skills in English (Dutch and/or French is a strong advantage)
Based in or willing to commute to Antwerp
