About the role:
A leading international Logistics Service Provider is seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to join their team and drive growth in the Dutch market, based in Amsterdam.
Key Responsibilities:
* Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify new business opportunities and understand market trends in the Dutch logistics sector, specifically in ocean and air freight.
* Client Acquisition: Develop and implement strategies to attract new clients, focusing on building long-term relationships with key stakeholders in various industries.
* Sales Strategy: Create and execute sales plans to achieve revenue targets, including identifying potential clients, conducting sales presentations, and negotiating contracts.
* Account Management: Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and identifying opportunities for up-selling and cross-selling.
* Collaboration: Work closely with the operations and customer service teams to ensure seamless service delivery and address any client concerns promptly.
* Reporting: Prepare regular reports on sales activities, market trends, and business development initiatives for senior management.
* Networking: Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to enhance our client's market presence and build professional relationships.
Qualifications:
* Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in logistics, with a strong focus on ocean and air freight. An operational background is also beneficial.
* Language Skills: Native Dutch speaker with excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English.
* Market Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the Dutch logistics market, including key players, regulatory environment, and market dynamics.
* Sales Acumen: Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth in a competitive market.
* Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
* Analytic Skills: Ability to analyse market data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
