Business Development Manager

DSJ Global is supporting a large international logistics and supply chain provider in their search for a Business Development Manager to strengthen their commercial presence across Italy. Our client operates a wide network across Europe and supports major brands across consumer, industrial and ecommerce sectors. The business is investing significantly in growth within Italy and is now looking for a commercially driven professional to lead market expansion.

The Role

This position focuses on developing new customer relationships, identifying strategic commercial opportunities and driving revenue growth throughout the Italian region. The successful candidate will act as a key representative of the company in the market and collaborate closely with internal European commercial teams.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to shaping the commercial growth strategy for Italy in partnership with senior leadership.
  • Build and execute a structured market approach, including targeted outreach, pipeline development, and direct engagement with potential clients.
  • Actively generate new leads through networking, cold acquisition and participation in relevant industry events, conferences and trade fairs.
  • Collaborate with solution design and tender specialists to craft tailored proposals that clearly communicate value and capability.
  • Engage with senior decisionmakers at prospective clients, developing trust and guiding opportunities through the full commercial cycle.
  • Be based in Italy, with regular travel to visit prospects, customer sites and industry events.
  • Align closely with the wider European business development team to ensure consistency across markets.

Candidate Requirements

  • Fluent in Italian and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willing to travel regularly across Italy.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • A natural networker with strong commercial instincts and a true "hunter" mentality.
  • Highly autonomous and comfortable executing a gotomarket strategy independently.
  • Strong discipline in managing a sales pipeline and maintaining active contact with potential clients.
  • Confident operating at Csuite level and capable of fostering longterm commercial relationships.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in B2B business development, ideally within logistics, supply chain solutions, transportation or industrial services.
