Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled CAM Programmer to develop and optimize CNC machining programs for complex manufactured components. This role will work closely with Engineering and Production teams to create efficient toolpaths, improve machining processes, and support new product introductions in a precision manufacturing environment. Relevant experience with Mastercam and CNC machining is frequently emphasized in internal CAM Programmer opportunities.

  • Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs using CAM software.
  • Develop tooling strategies, feeds, speeds, and machining processes to maximize efficiency and quality.
  • Collaborate with engineers and machinists to troubleshoot manufacturing challenges and improve production performance.
  • Validate and prove out programs on the shop floor.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, models, and GD&T requirements.
  • Support fixture design, tooling selection, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain program documentation and revision control.
  • Assist with process development for new products and production transfers.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of CAM programming experience in a machining or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with Mastercam, Fusion 360, NX CAM, PowerMill, or similar CAM software.
  • Strong understanding of CNC milling, turning, tooling, and machining processes.
  • Ability to read blueprints, CAD models, and GD&T specifications.
  • Hands-on machining experience preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and production teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Multi-axis machining experience (3, 4, or 5-axis).
  • Experience with aerospace, defense, medical device, or precision manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with G-code, fixture design, and CNC machine setup.
